Unfortunately, I have very little control over the advertising Google delivers. Adsense is a form of contextual advertising that maximize responses by only displaying advertisements that a reader is liable to find of interest. This of course means that some will be coming from creationists and other religious groups.

It is understandable that many people may find this a little strange or objectionable.

However, I am the one who gets the bill for hosting every 6 months and I therefore tend to take a less idealistic view of these matters.

Actually, this form of arrangement is fairly common. For example, Lenny Flank has his Debunk Creation forum funded by Yahoo using pay per click advertising, and religious adverts are often displayed on it.

Advertising by creationist and right wing religious groups is pervasive across the whole Internet and most people using a search engine will encounter it as a matter of course anyway.

Furthermore, contextual advertising cuts both ways and any creationist using it to fund their hosting will find adverts for atheist websites and merchandise appearing on their pages.

On a positive note, I find it rather gratifying to think that my opponents are paying to promote my website - Google works in mysterious ways!
