Unfortunately you seem to be learning the hard way what a bunch of lying, cheating scumbags creationists are. This tactic of theirs of equating atheism or evolution with Nazi or communist regimes is well documented. Recent examples can be found in the Stein film, Expelled.
The general strategy works like this: Think of something bad, be it an American high school shooting, family breakdown, drug problems, a war somewhere, or even the fact the your milkman forgot to deliver your milk this morning (anything will do) – then scream at the top of your voice, “LOOK WHAT THE EVIL EVOLUTIONISTS HAVE DONE!”
And just for good measure throw in a couple of pictures of a concentration camp or a picture of a tank with a bloody great big red star painted across it.
If you ask me, all you have done is swapped one ideology that likes banning things for another ideology that likes banning things.
Perhaps you should write to these screwballs & ask them if, “evolutionism” (note this ism, which slyly equates the theory of evolution with a dogmatic ideology) is such a bad thing, why is it that it has been taught in the UK & many other western European countries for as long as anyone can remember & yet all of these countries are democracies?
Ask them why if Darwinism (there’s a heck of a lot of isms around here!) is so terrible, why didn’t they just get Darwin’s body & throw it in the nearest ditch instead of burying him in Westminster Abbey?
