Placing information onto the website can be a time consuming & tedious process. To speed things & increase flexibility, an URL database program called Furl has been added to the site. Furl can quickly store & organise the many URLs used on Creationism, allowing their retrieval based on topic, date etc, or via the search facility.

Instructions

The full Furl archive can be accessed at: http://www.furl.net/members/bsgroup

Let’s assume information is required on Academies; first click on the, “filter by topic”, box & select, “Academies” from the drop down list. Now select “search”. All those entries relating to the subject of academies will be displayed. It is now possible to search this topic by entering the required words into the search box. To search the complete archive; go back to, “filter by topic”, & select “All”, any word searches will then search the whole archive.

Searching by topic & searching the complete archive both have their uses. Searching by topic is liable to return more specific information & searching the archive will recover information that is not apparent from the topic. This is because the process of categorising information into topics is very subjective. Although it is possible to assign multiple topics to an URL the process is still not totally effective.
